1. Set the mood
Do you feel relaxed in a dark room, light room, neutral or colourful?
I like a mixture of light & dark for the bedroom.
I like white sheets, white walls, white pillows but I add a little depth with a dark feature wall and some dark furniture.
2. Invest in a good bed
Having a good nights sleep is the best feeling ever.
Investing in a luxury bed and mattress is the best thing you can do.
You should be excited to snuggle up in your bed and feel like your staying in some luxury hotel.
3. No storage
Keep your bedroom free from clutter and storage.
Have nothing stored under your bed or in the cupboards.
The only storage I have is a bed box with bed linen inside.
Keep your bedside clean and tidy and don't keep to many items on your bedside.
4. NO COMPUTERS
I banned computers from the bedroom about 4 years ago.
BEST THING EVER.
The bedroom should be a place you come to for sleep and relaxing only.
I recently also banned iPhones from the room! My husband and I now rely on an old fashion alarm clock to wake us up.
It gives us a good nights sleep without our brains buzzing from the phones.
Ps. I also unplug the TV cable when we are not watching TV (and we hardly ever watch TV)
4. Fragrance
Buy a candle or room diffuser that matches the look and feel of your room.
5. Keep it clean
Keep your room clean at all times.
The last thing you want to do is come home to find your morning stress over what to wear on the floor.
Take the time to put everything back in its place and keep the floor clear.
If you have a husband who is not as tidy as you its best to have your side of the bed closest to the door so that when you walk in the bed will disguise his side of the floor :-)
6. Buy Eco
So its almost time to buy a new mattress and I will be buying an Eco friendly version.
(If I could go back in time I would buy everything Eco friendly, so if your looking to buy a new bed, bedding or furniture opt for Eco friendly)
Buying Eco will create a formaldehyde-free sleeping environment for yourself/family.
Click the link below for why I would chose Eco.
7. No extras
Keep your room simple with only one or two decor pieces, plain walls and only keep things in your room that you actually need. Nothing else!
